>> Anxiety Zine #2: Ste-Emilie Skillshare Callout
Thursday, January 29, 2009 - 08:21 AM
A message from the Ste-Emilie Skillshare (a working group of QPIRG-Concordia):
"dear friends,
we're back, and anxious as ever! this is the long-time-coming call-out for anxiety zine number two!!! we had a lot of fun making the last zine and we got overwhelmingly nice feedback from lots of anxious heroes, so we wanna keep sharing our struggles and supporting each other with stories, comics, drawings, poems, photos, articles -- however you want to express it. ..."
like the first anxiety zine we especially want to include submissions from youth, poc,
migrants, indigenous people, queers, trans people, folks with disabilities. we want to bring in anti-opressive analyses that are often hard to find in resources on anxiety and mental health.
for this edition we'd love to hear anything and everything, including : your anxious bowels, sleepless nights, how you keep it together, how you lost it, things that make you anxious, things that make you feel safe, coming-of-age anxiety, date anxiety, yer embarrassing moments, yer systems of support, harm reduction, yer political analyses of mental health + the state, your remedies, resources, how you did yerself proud, and the heroics of making it !!
if yer submitting something arty, we're hoping to have a nice vernissage at the zine launch, so keep that in mind. It could be a great time to show something like your drawings, photos, performances, films, or whatever else in life size.
we will include any size of submissions, but fyi the zine will be printed on legal sized (8.5 x 14) paper.
deadline=april 30th 2009
please pass this on to yer friends if you like,
love from a couple of nail biting anxious heroes.
