Israeli Apartheid Week Montreal is the local organizing committee of IAW. Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is an annual international series of events held in cities and campuses across the globe. The aim of IAW is to educate people about the nature of Israel as an apartheid system and to build Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns as part of a growing global BDS movement.

 

Research Description:

IAW Montreal is looking for a communications or cinematography student who is competent in video production who can be an intern videographer for Israeli Apartheid Week 2011 in Montreal. The successful applicant will work with the organizing committee of IAW in the lead-up to IAW (starting in January 2011, or earlier if possible) to produce an online, bilingual trailer tohelp promote IAW. The intern will also be responsible for video-taping all the IAW events in Montreal, digitizing, editing, and archiving the material.

 

 

Type of final product desired:

A short (2-3 minute) trailer to promote IAW (to be completed early February 2011), nicely edited highlight reels from all the IAW-Montreal events (to be posted on online social media sites by mid-March, 2011), and a DVD with all the IAW footage (to be completed by mid-April2011).

 

Duration of project:

The project would last throughout the Winter 2011 semester. For the first
8 weeks, it will be roughly 5 hours per week. For the last 8 weeks, it will be around 15 hours per week.

 

Can one more than student work on this project simultaneously?
