Project description:
W.O.R.D. is looking for a student to help us with our ongoing fundraising and development plan. To make W.O.R.D. a sustainable program, we require funding that is sufficient, reliable and renewable. The student's role and research plan would include the following:
- To orient yourself with the unique funding needs and requirements of W.O.R.D.;
- To research grant and contribution opportunities from charitable organizations, foundations, government programs, etc.;
- To build relationships with potential donors;
- To draft funding applications, proposals and budgets;
- To ultimately secure funding on behalf of W.O.R.D.;
In the final month of the project, you will be required to present your findings in a final report that will answer the following questions:
- Describe the successes and challenges of your funding research and application plan. What worked well? What didn’t? Why?
- What factors will lead to the long-term sustainability of W.O.R.D.?
- What avenues should W.O.R.D. pursue to secure funding moving forward?
This research and final report will
provide W.O.R.D. with valuable direction in establishing a long-term
strategic fundraising and development plan.
