Biking while pregnant/biking with small children

Biking while pregnant/biking with small children

Saturday October 22nd, 10am-12pm
QPIRG Concordia
1500 de Maisonneuve Ouest, suite 204 (metro Guy-concordia)

On-site childcare • Snacks provided • Whisper-translation to French available • Free!

Do you ride a bike? Are you having, or have you recently had, a baby? Do you want to keep on riding your bike just the same, despite the disapproving looks or comments you’re getting when you say so? (or you’re just not sure what – if anything – you should do differently when you ride.)

This workshop aims to:
*   bust myths about the ‘dangers’ of biking through pregnancy
*   share tips about biking safely, comfortably, and confidently throughout your pregnancy
*   discuss the ways to transport your little one(s) with you as you bike
*   provide a space for parents & parents-to-be to connect and to chat about biking with child
Please note: we know it can be difficult to gather your kids to leave the house, or to get them to let you stay through a whole two-hour workshop (even one with childcare!). Likewise, getting up early with morning sickness or other pregnancy symptoms can be hard…so please know that you’re more than welcome to show up for whatever part you can (or to leave early!). We will do our best to catch you up when you arrive. The ‘biking with small children’ content will be presented first, and the ‘biking while pregnant’ second.

co-sponsored by: Right To Move/La Voie Libre (a working group of QPIRG Concordia); People’s Potato; CUSP (Concordia University Student Parents Centre).
