STUDY IN ACTION is a grassroots research conference on social and environmental justice issues designed to link students with community groups and activists. Study in Action offers a space for undergraduate students to present the results of their research, deepen their understanding of social and environmental justice issues, and build links with community groups. The 2015 conference will take place from March 21 to March 22.
The organizing committee is looking for VOLUNTEERS who are interested in taking an active part in preparing and shaping next year’s conference. Do you want to learn more about community-based social justice research? Are you interested in becoming actively involved in organizing a grassroots research conference? Do you want to know more about just what Study in Action is? Then come to our Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, December 4th!
Volunteering for Study In Action can take many shapes and forms. Amongst others, the committee does outreach for the conference, makes financial decisions and fundraising, connects with different community groups, does the selection presentation and workshop selection, and organizes and runs the conference. You can volunteer for as much or as little of those tasks and we will train you where needed.
