This engaging panel will address alternative forms of teaching, rethinking the academy, and radical approaches to education. The discussion will include a variety of perspectives on learning both within and outside of the university context. Come to learn more about critical perspectives on school, schooling and education.
About the speakers:
– Matt Hern is co-director of the Purple Thistle Centre in Vancouver, and author of numerous books & articles including “Everywhere, All the Time” & “DeSchooling Our Lives.”
– Ellen Gabriel is a member of the Longhouse at Kanehsatà:ke, artist & former president of the Quebec Native Women’s Association
– Marty Fink is a part-time faculty member of Concordia’s Simone de Beauvoir Institute & the Department of English, working to represent queer and transgender culture through the teaching and creation of comics and zines.
