QPIRG Concordia is hiring a Finance and Fundraising Coordinator

The Quebec Public Interest Research Group at Concordia is a resource centre for student and community research and organizing. We strive to raise awareness and support grassroots activism around diverse social and environmental issues. Our work is rooted in an anti-oppression analysis and practice. We seek to make campus-community links and inspire social change through engaging, inclusive and non-hierarchical approaches.

Along with the shared role of organization coordination, the Finance and Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the financial activities of QPIRG and ensuring financial accountability, transparency and accessibility in an organization that includes three permanent staff, part-time staff, 20+ working groups and multiple core projects.  She/he also researches and coordinates fundraising efforts and legal responsibilities. Alternative Libraries Poster Competition 2010-2011!

The 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy in collaboration with QPIRG Concordia and QPIRG McGill is organizing a poster competition that explores themes relating to our mandates; advocacy, self-representation and social justice. The aim of the competition is to promote our libraries in the greater Montreal community. This competition is open to everyone.

The prize will be a 100$ gift certificate to an art supply store or the Co-Op Bookstore and will be awarded to the entry selected for first place. The winner’s poster may be printed digitally or screen-printed locally by the Ste-Emilie Skillshare in which case please ensure that your entry is no more than 3 layers.

The competition will commence in December 2010 with winners announced in February 2011 by representatives of the Alternative Libraries Resource Centre.
